Prince Caspian....the real review

Yes, it's a week late, but I had to get all my notes I scribbled down during the movie in order. As always, if you wish to keep yourself spoiler free, you should skip this review.

I knew from the start of this movie that it was going to be awesome. How you may ask? Right after the Disney and WaldenMedia logos did their thing, two planets came close together, and passed each other....just like the book. If they were going to do small things like that from the book, then they had my full appreciation.
But, just to get them out of the way, I have..

The Cons---
Just like I thought it would, Susan warrior chick bothered me. Yes, she didn't really have a choice whether to fight or not, but THROWING an arrow??? That's kind of too much for me to believe that she's really "the Gentle." I did love all of her garb, especially her purple dress and her armor corset thing, which was awesome..
And, just like I thought it would, the SusanCaspian romance thing bothered me, but not as much as I thought it would. It was very slight, so it didn't ruin the movie for me.
The worst part for me was the breaking of Peter's character. Yes, it would be hard to adjust to being a kid again, but once he was back in Narnia, he didn't adjust BACK to being the Magnificent quite as well as he could have. Once meeting with Caspian, he proceeds to take total and complete charge, which seemed to be a bit bold considering Caspian was the one who currently held the right to the Narnian throne. In the book, Peter specifically said to Caspian, "I haven't come to take your place, you know, but to put you into it."

And now that we're pass the cons, I shall discuss the things that COULD have been cons, but weren't. The night raid is a good example. I thought it was amazing the strategy and ideas they had for it, and the execution was incredible until all of the Telmarine soldiers were alerted to it.
After the night raid, Caspian is approaced by Nikabrik in Aslan's How. Nikabrik asks if he's glad of using that horn now, and proceeds to take Caspian into the room with the Stone Table, which leads into the scene that also COULD have been an issue, but turned out to be awesome.
Nikabrik says, "We've tried one ancient power, and that has failed." The wer-wolf gave me shivers when it repeated word for word the line in the book. "I am hunger. I am thirst. I can fast a hundred years and not die. I can lie a hundred nights on the ice and not freeze. I can drink a river of blood and not burst. Show me your enemies!"
The hag proceeds to draw the circle, and takes the White Witch's wand and plunges it into the ground. Ice trickles up two columns, and the White Witch faces Caspian. After a bit, the Pevensies and a few others burst into the scene and start taking care of business, but in the middle of it, Peter is drawn in by the White Witch and stands next to Caspian entranced. "You know you can't do this alone," she tells Peter. But suddenly, one of the most awesome moments of the whole movie happens. The ice shatters, and behind it stands Edmund with his sword, the cause of the break. "I know, you had it all worked out," he says to Peter before walking away.

YAY FOR EDMUND!!!!!! He is definitely one of my top favorite characters.

Overall, this was a fantastic movie that stayed true to the spirit to the book, and it was amazing seeing my childhood dream of seeing the Chronicles come to life in a movie come true for a second time.
I shall return and discuss individual things from the movie later.

I agree with natasha, The movie was outstanding, even though it had its few moments. I loved it and will watch it a million and 1 times.
