I just love these paintings, so I wanted to share with y'all.
This one is "God speed" by Edmund Blair Leighton:
And this one is "Stitching the Standard" also by Edmund Blair Leighton:
And this one, also by Edmund Blair Leighton, is called "the Accolade."
I love his use of light, and I love how he shows the lady's devotion to her knight in different ways. In the first, she wishes him godspeed; in the second, she devotes her time to sewing his standard; in the third, she knights him for his deeds.
2 musings:
when I saw a comment on that pic I knew it was you! :) I like these paintings too... I just didn't get to comment on them yet!
I just read "Confessions of an Ugly Stepsister" and I think you would like it. It is the ugly stepsister's point of view from Cinderella, so it is interesting... also it is a neat historical story... I'll tell you more in person if you want to know more! :)
Yeah, those are great paintings, but Dad and I got really tired while we were posing for Godspeed.
