Character Interaction Thingie

Those who are long-time readers of my blog may recognize the main idea of this post, because I've posted this interaction exercise thing before.
But hey, self-plagiarism is style as Alfred Hitchcock said, and I felt like doing it again with different characters.

Write down the first ten book characters who come to mind. Try not to use more than one character from any given book.

Character 1: Sam from Lord of the Rings
Character 2: Caspian from PC and VotDT
Character 3: Ender from Ender's Game, etc.
Character 4: Peeta from the Hunger Games
Character 5: Justin from Mrs. Frisby and the Rats of NIMH
Character 6: Charles Wallace from a Wrinkle in Time
Character 7: The Scarlet Pimpernel from...well, guess
Character 8: Archie from the Nero Wolf books
Character 9: Jo from Little Women
Character 10: Erik from Phantom of the Opera

Now answer the following questions, based on the characters you wrote down above. Absolutely no going back to change the characters you've chosen!

Characters 4 through 10 are on Survivor. Who gets voted off the island first? Perhaps Archie because no one appreciates his witty commentary on everyone else.

What are the chances of characters 1 (Sam) and 8 (Archie) falling in love with each other? Nil to none.

Character 2 and character 3 get into a cat fight. Who wins and why? Though I can't imagine why Caspian and Ender would get into a fight, I would say Ender.

Of the other nine characters, who is character 7 (The Scarlet Pimpernel) most likely to have a crush on? Probably Jo.
What would happen if character 4 (Peeta) got turned into a vampire? Well, then the Hunger Games books wouldn't be the Hunger Games books, they'd be called Twilight...

Two of the characters are twins separated at birth. Which two are they? Erik and the Scarlet Pimpernel
Characters 1, 2, 3, and 9 are stuck in an elevator. What do they do to pass the time? It'd be very uncomfortable for Ender and Caspian, considering they were in a cat fight earlier. Because of that animosity, Sam would get fidgety, and Jo would just read a book.

What would happen if character 8 and character 5 were roommates? Justin is a rat....so I don't think Archie would even realize he was Justin's roommate.

What do character 10 (Erik) and character 6 (Charles Wallace) have in common? they are both very, very smart.

I tag...whoever wants to do this.

The Interview

The Rules of the Interview
1. Leave me a comment saying you want to be interviewed.
2. I'll leave a comment of five questions, of my determination not yours!
3. You update your blog with the answers to the questions.
4. You offer to interview someone else in the same post.
5. When others comment asking to be interviewed, you will ask them five questions.

My questions from Edge:

1. What's your favorite musical?

Ohhhh dear.... I'm a musical theater geek, so I shall have to debate amongst myself for awhile...If I answered right off the top of my head, I would say Phantom of the Opera. With further deliberation, I would say Spamalot because, come on, it's Monty Python and the Holy Grail turned into a musical. With further thought, I might say Les Miserables. But then, if you're talking about musical movies too, I would say Singin' in the Rain. And....I could go on and on, but those are my favorites amongst many.

2. What does go on in the planet Skyron?

Many things. Mainly the manufacture of oversized items, because with the time-warp in getting to Earth, they shrink. Now, one time there was an error in the make of a rather large group of blancmanges, and they came to life with the intention of turning people into Scotsman and eating them. However, my uncle and aunt, Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Brainsample just happened to be representing Skyron on Earth at the time, and they were able to eat the blancmanges before they did any other damage. But seriously, our companies are going into a serious recession because our main geniuses who were the real people behind such companies as Apple and Microsoft were never paid. It's incredible how delusional some Earth people are. Because they weren't paid, they couldn't pay their flunkys. Because the flunkys weren't paid, they emmigrated to our archenemy planet of Noryks. It's disgusting...They just imitate whatever we do then pervert it to their schemes. Even their NAME is ripped off of ours. Ugh....it makes me want to start blasting a picture of a Norkyksian politician.

3. Do you think you'll ever live in a different state than you do now?

If I do, I always want to return to Texas.

4. What movie is Johnny Depp's best?

Hmm...I've only seen six of his movies (Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Finding Neverland, and the three Pirates), so I'd have to say Pirates. But only the first one. The other two were just meh in my opinion. What I find really cool is that he never looks the same in any of his movies I've seen. If I didn't know it was Johnny Depp, I'd probably think they were different actors.

5. Bungee jumping or skydiving?

I may be adventurous (somewhat) but not THAT adventurous. But if I HAD to choose, I'd say skydiving. Who knows, I may have to do something like that in my adventurous life in the Navy. (there's an inside joke there...my parents always talk about shipping us off to the Armed Forces if we can't afford college. The Navy was what they chose for me.)

*Sigh*

I haven't posted in a long time....as in, since last Friday, I believe. But, I've been doing SOME worthwhile things. I finished my script for Death Wears a Suit in a matter of a couple days, and I'm semi-satisfied with it. The final plot twist scene needs some work, I think...
So because I don't have much to say (haven't seen any new movies or finished any books worth reviewing) I'm going to combine a few tags I found on Q's blog because I like them.

My ideal...
Snack: popcorn or goldfish and a glass of milk
Day: is spent at the bookstore for hours or spent making films with EJC co-founders and whoever other actor friends I hire
Book: *sigh* again.....it's hard to squish an ideal book into a tag...
Friend: trustworthy, encouraging, and weird enough to understand me
Weather: cold enough to have a fire

3 Must Read Books:
The Lord of the Rings, by J.R.R. Tolkien
Jane Eyre, by Charlotte Bronte
The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, by Douglas Adams
(I have wayyyyy more responses to this question, so see here)

3 Keep Your Eyes on These:
hmmm....not sure what is meant by this question, so I'll leave it blank

3 Look For These Soon:

Third book of Echoes from the Edge, by Bryan Davis (don't know the name...)
Bones of Makaidos, by Bryan Davis
Can't think of a third...
I tag...anyone who wants to do these.

As for the filming of upcoming projects, (i.e., Bookmark of Doom and Death Wears a Suit) we're looking at Thanksgiving week. I'm getting really excited because this will probably be the first time we do sketches with an ACTUAL script, not just impulsive improv.)

Exasperation and a Confession

Things drive me nuts sometimes. There is no way around that.
Shareware is one of those things.
Picture if you will, this circumstance: Someone finds software online that they need for filmmaking. Nowhere on the website it is downloaded from does it say that it is a trial period. Yet after thirty inconspicuous days pass, the person using that software to make his movies gets the message "Your trial period has passed. View pricing options here."
That in and of itself makes him mad. Then he decides that he does actually need that software. He goes to the site and proceeds to download the WRONG program for a sum of money. After an hour of researching, he finds out that his computer won't even use that kind of program. He tries to find some way of returning it, but he sees that the stupid Australian company (no offense Aussies, I love y'all's accents) has a no return, no refund, no nothing way of fixing the problem policy.
Now he's been ripped off and has to go to Best Buy to find a better solution...
Oh well. I guess there are worse things that can happen. Maybe now I'll....excuse me, *he* will get software that's even better than the stupid Australian company can offer.
Now to the confession....
I know in the blog world there are many wonderful writers. Writers who are amazing at their craft and pour themselves into it. (Edge and Miss Erin to name a couple.)
I am not one of those people.
Don't get me wrong, I love writing, but it doesn't, as Gwendolyn from the Importance of Being Earnest would say, "Stir within me the deepest fibers of my nature."
What I enjoy more is pulling things from a piece of writing.
Take today for an example. I have acting class on Monday, so today's the day I do all the homework and preparation for that class. I have spent hours of solitude picking through a monologue and a scene using clues from the writer to form my characters. (the monologue is Mrs. Chevely from An Ideal Husband by Oscar Wilde and the scene is Ann from All My Sons by Arthur Miller)
Whenever I try to write, I always find myself wanting to DO what the characters are doing rather than just to write about what they do.
Hence, I am an actor.
Who am I kidding....Hence, I am a total theater geek. Let us call a spade a spade.

Book Questionaire

Which book do you irrationally cringe away from reading, despite seeing only positive reviews?
Breaking Dawn. I refuse to read it. (ask Princess Geo, she'll verify that fact)
If you could bring three characters to life for a social event (afternoon tea, night of clubbing, perhaps a world cruise), who would they be and what would the event be?
Tough question...it'd have to be Mr. Rochester (Jane Eyre) for an evening of discussion; Faramir for a swordfighting lesson, and Gandalf for the 4th of July
You are told you can't die until you read the most boring novel on the planet. While this immortality is great for a while, eventually you realize it's past time to die. Which book would you expect to get you a nice grave?
Federal Tax Handbook
Which book have you pretended, or at least hinted, that you've read, when in fact you've been nowhere near it?
none that I can think of
As an addition to the last question, has there been a book that you really thought you'd read, only to realize when you read a review about it/ go to re-read that you haven't? Which book?
Hmmm.......I can't think of any right this minute
You're interviewing for the post of Official Book Advisior to some VIP ( who's not a big reader). What's the first book you'd recommend and why: ( if you feel like you'd have to know the person, go ahead and personalize the VIP).
Chronicles of Narnia. If they like that, move on to Lord of the Rings
A good fairy comes and grants you one wish: you will have perfect reading and comprehension in a foreign language of your choice. What language do you go with?
ELVISH!!!!!!
A mischievious fairy comes and says that you must choose one book that you will re-read once a year for the rest of your life ( you could read other books as well). Which book would you pick?
Lord of the Rings, Jane Eyre, Chronicles of Narnia...I already have books I read at least once a year
I know that the book blogging community, and its various challenges, have pushed my reading borders. What’s one bookish thing you ‘discovered’ from book blogging (maybe a new genre, or author, or new appreciation for cover art-anything)?
I saw a review of Trion Rising on a blog, and I loved it after I read it.
That good fairy is back for one final visit. Now, she’s granting you your dream library! Describe it. Is everything leatherbound? Is it full of first edition hardcovers? Pristine trade paperbacks? Perhaps a few favourite authors have inscribed their works? Go ahead-let your imagination run free.
My library will have a gothic Jane Eyre quality to it with stone walls and cadlesticks, but it will have comfortable couches that have room for sleeping as well as sitting. There'd be a special organization of my books in a sort of virtual way. Books that belong to more than one shelf (ie favorites, fantasy, classic) would be virtually represented then brought forth when called for. (from any of the shelves which it's represented) Also, my library would be connected to my best friends' libaries so that we can lend each other our books whenever we wanted to. In addition to having a portal for our books, there'd also be a portal for ourselves so that we could traverse each other's libaries to go discuss books together. Finally, the portal wouldn't stop at sending us between libaries; it could also scan a book then take us into the book to wherever we wanted in terms of plotline and place.

Character Interaction exercise

Write down the first ten book characters who come to mind. Try not to use more than one character from any given book.

Character 1: Bonnie Silver from Dragons in Our Midst
Character 2: Faramir from Lord of the Rings
Character 3: Mr. Rochester from Jane Eyre
Character 4: Ford Prefect from Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy
Character 5: Cor from Horse and His Boy
Character 6: Philip Lombard from And Then There Were None
Character 7: Katherine Moreland from Northanger Abbey
Character 8: Westly from the Princess Bride
Character 9: Jason Bourne from the Bourne Identity
Character 10: Colonel Brandon from Sense and Sensibility

Now answer the following questions, based on the characters you wrote down above. Absolutely no going back to change the characters you've chosen!

Characters 4 through 10 are on Survivor. Who gets voted off the island first? Katherine Moreland because she has no useful survival skills and she spends all of her time reading the gothic novel she has as her luxury item.
What are the chances of characters 1 and 8 falling in love with each other? No chance. Bonnie is prophesized to marry Billy Bannister, and Westly is taken by Buttercup
Character 2 and character 3 get into a cat fight. Who wins and why? NO! I can't imagine why my beloved Faramir and beloved Mr. Rochester would get into a fight!
Of the other nine characters, who is character 7 most likely to have a crush on? Probably Colonel Brandon, at least before she meets Henry Tilney
What would happen if character 4 got turned into a vampire? Ford Prefect would thirst after Pan Galactic Gargle Blasters all day
Two of the characters are twins separated at birth. Which two are they? Mr. Rochester and Colonel Brandon
Characters 1, 2, 3, and 9 are stuck in an elevator. What do they do to pass the time? They wouldn't pass the time. Jason Bourne would get them out of the elevator
What would happen if character 8 and character 5 were roommates? They practice their sword fighting skills. Westly would be the better and teach Cor.
What do character 10 and character 6 have in common? they're from England...other than that....they're each gentlemen but in different ways

I encourage y'all to do this one too; it was alot of fun.

Dream questions...

Ok, I know I just did one of these recently, but I found this one on dreams. Since I have MANY weird dreams, it seemed appropriate for me.

Do you remember your dreams? most of the time. some of the details get fuzzy, but I usually remember the gist of it

What's the best dream you've ever had? All of my secret agent/running away from being captured by bad guys with friends dreams. also, the time I dreamed I jumped from a Titanic ship and felt the tingly sensation one gets from falling. Also the times I've dreamed that I was a mutant. (think X-Men)

What's the worst nightmare you've ever had? I don't write down my nightmares unless they're interesting, so I don't remember. Except for the dream about running away from a scary director of a play. I do remember dreaming about Rasputin from Anastasia when I was a kid though. That was the first dream I ever had that I can remember.

What's the absolute WEIRDEST dream you've ever had? too many to count...

Can you control your dreams? not really. I dream about stuff I'd rather not dream about sometimes, but other times I dream about people I've been doing stuff with recently

Do you have any recurring dreams? dreams of my being a secret agent with two of my friends

Have you ever had a flying dream? I've had a dream that I was flying in the Blackbird from X-Men and we jumped out of the plane and landed safely in a shopping mall

How about one of those dreams where you go to school/work and realize that you're naked? unfortunately.....yes

Have you ever had a dream that featured characters from a book, movie, or television show? OHHHHH yeah....I've had Lotr, X-Men, Narnia, the Breakfast club...the list goes on. I've also had a dream where I WAS ROGUE!!!!! That was awesome.......Gambit was even there..

Have you ever had a dream where your teeth fall out? no......

Have you ever dreamed something that later came true? YES...I dreamed someone from church died her brown hair golden blonde, and about a year later she came home from college and it was that EXACT COLOR......sCaRy............

Again, I tag Tricia, Princess Geo, Mom, and any other volunteers.
